Over the next couple of weeks, we will be sending out some additional information highlighting different aspects of the 2026 swim season for Team Barracuda.  

As part of this, we want to highlight our coaches for this season.  First up is our Head Coach for 2026.  Say hello to Coach Drew Vanden Heuvel!

Coach Drew is a native of Sarasota, FL where he was a member of a 3-time state champion high school program. He is a rising senior swimmer for ODU and was previously an Associate Head Coach for the Norfolk Yacht & CC Sea Dragons. Outside of swimming, Coach Drew enjoys golf, pickleball, and fishing. He is excited to join Team Barracuda this summer and looks forward to meeting all swimmers and families.

Team Swimsuit Info

We will be sending out swimsuit into in the next few weeks.  There will be a few options.  Like the last few years, we are offering online ordering only.  No "in person" fittings.  The online option is cheaper and more convenient for most folks.   

Stroke & Turn Judge Training

The WTSA official training for Stroke & Turn judges will be held on Thursday, June 4th at 6:30pm at the James River Community Church in the community of Eclipse (next to Nansemond Swim Club). No prior experience is needed, but anyone who wants to, or has been a Stroke & Turn judge in the past must attend.  This also applies to Chief Judges, Meet Referees, and Starters.  If this is you, please put the training session on your calendar now and plan to attend.  We will be communicating other volunteer roles as the season gets closer.
